Our certified integrated management system comprises the entire operational procedure in production and management.  Birkhäuser+GBC was certified with its quality management system to ISO 9001:2008 and with its industrial safety and health management system to OHSAS 18001:2007.

Hygiene is an important quality criterion for packaging materials for foods, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. Birkhäuser+GBC is one of the few printers in Europe that is certified to BRC/IOP Global Standard 3.  For you this means that packaging and package inserts are free of physical, microbiological and chemical contaminations.

The certifications for the careful treatment of natural resources, however, are just as important to us.  We offer our customers paper from forests whose resources are sustainably cultivated, and as early as 2003 we were the second printer to receive the Forest Stewardship Council's certificate.  Not only do we recommend to our customers the use of environment-friendly types of paper wherever their use makes sense-we also use them in our own plants.  For this and for the reduction of our energy and water consumption we were certified to ISO 14001:2004 with our environment management system.  The fact that we also keep our overall emissions as low as possible is not a mere statement.  It is a continuous process which is being improved all the time and documented by the label for climate-neutral printing.
